Vendetta was the name of one of two regiments ( I believe )
of the Italian 29th SS Division.
I make no claims either way as to the authenticity
of this helmet. I simply do not know for certain.

Re: Italian helmets
Not sure how I missed these first time around, but absolutely outstanding examples of the M33 ,M33/47 Rip.
I have yet to add the Para version to my own collection, great reference source for these often overlooked genre of helmets, and superb close up pic's mate

Italian helmets
Hey Gary,
Thanks for your comments.
I have a very small helmet collection; mostly what I have posted.
Have had the fortune of finding them many years ago; would have been pretty difficult to accumulate as many M33 type today.
I also have an 80s Brit helmet, and a South African WW II variation of the period Brit helmet that I posted here as well.
Do need a few more. Been too lazy to add a Swiss helmet I have been wanting; believe it is an M71, but could be wrong.
Some of the helmets I would love to have are not very expensive. Just dont have the room,as my house is full of Camo uniforms..
Such is life.. Glad you have enjoyed my modest helmet collection.
rip...
PS. Check out my beer stein post...

Re: Italian helmets
Hi sal.
No worries Mate,you're welcome.
I find it quite hard over here to find decent Italian lids,so I enjoyed looking at your fine collection.
Oh yes, the M71, one of the finest quality steel lids produced, odd looking shape but a classic!!
And of course will check out your other post's

The cover on this helmet is a hood from an M29 smock.
