Portuguese Paratroops pocket fob Empty Portuguese Paratroops pocket fob

Post by loski Fri Mar 29, 2013 5:54 pm

Hi guys 2 things first can anyone ID the pocket fob on this Portuguese shirt, going by the para wing above the left pocket I think it is for the airborne.
And secondly has anyone got a spare eppulett to match the one on the shirt that they would not mind parting with
    Thanks
    Graham

Very nice Graham, whilst no expert on Portuguese Para units, I did a quick search, and found something very similar to the fob badge you have except it was 1 CCP32!

Also found out that 2 CCP32 a Para unit were dispatched to Angola in 1961, couldn't find much more, but I did find a dedicated Portuguese Paratrooper forum too!

    Very nice mate Cool

Hard to find these with badging! I hate getting one with only a single epaulette. My assumption is the veteran held onto one as a keepsake.

The days of a $5 purchase being cheaper than the postage is gone even within your own country. Unless you're talking a badge or something small. I have to say that within the last 2 years of collecting I've paid more attention to shipping costs than the previous 18 combined. A few years ago I would never NOT buy something because of postage, now I opt not to buy stuff all the time because of postage.

    Bah.

Nice shirt, unfortunately, the air force epaulets are nearly impossible to find.
