Slant pocket M04s

This post documents 2 parallel uniforms; one ripstop, one non.

Nice catch that

The rip stop is Generation 3 jungle/tropic uniform
The non rip stop is genetation 5 (latest) jungle/tropical uniform

If you want to get rid off the gen 5 and the size is medium/ 50-52, then let me know

There is very little know about these uniforms.


I know where you can find some ripstop M05 , but only  in extremely small sizes (XXX- S) . *

Mine are XL and NOT for sale..

I have the twill fabric variant and must say I personally like the ripstop one more.
But both are very cool.

Just to say it it is no Norwegian uniform that is called M05

We've had some input about this uniforms, but nothing solid.
Would be great if you could inform us about the proper designation of these obviously newer type.

We do know there are woodland types with straight pockets called M04 which is a modern version of the M98.

Any good info is more than welcome...and yes, pity about the sizes..

A few more that show both slant pocket uniforms in use and also a newer type I just learned of.


The first 2 photos show the same soldiers as in the photo in my  previous post.
Looks like some sort of international exercise ; of note is  Latvian temperate pattern..









Norwegian soldier on the left in bottom photo is wearing a ripstop uniform.  The above photo shows a non ripstop uniform.








Next photo shows  the new uniform and  Norwegian Crown Prince receiving his wings after completing para training.   The Colonel is wearing a Norwegian Special Forces patch .

Norwegian female soldiers are employed in all sorts of combat roles . Those who qualify, can and do deploy in special forces roles.

Grrrrrr. Interesting idea. The snow camo is very nice btw.

I agree, snow camo is almost as hot as the other pic!

I have seen a collection of female soldiers from every nation before, though can't remember where. I think that's a fine idea for this site, though. It might also help raise awareness to the female-specific uniforms which tend to go neglected.

Getting back to the topic (more or less) From the first series of photos you posted, second one down is a good shot of Crye G3 combat trousers in the Norwegian pattern. Also, any idea what kind of OD trousers the guy on far left is wearing?

There's tons of threads and Pinterest pages out there with all woman military from around the world. Because of the high hit count they are often some of the first pics in a Google search. I don't mind the ones without commentary, but with commentary... well... not what I'd want to see here. Disrespectful at best, abusive at worst. Even though we're a much nicer bunch than all that, I'd rather not have such a thread started here.

I can certainly see potential for abuse on a thread about female soldiers but I would hope that as a whole we would be more civilized than that..

Anyway, in the interest of harmony and decency, I will not start such a thread out of respect for those who might have to continually have to remove potential offending posts..

Oh, I think the lads here are the best and we probably wouldn't have issues. But... from a conservative point of view I'd prefer to side step the possibility. There's plenty of such threads out there already.

That said, this isn't my forum so it's not up to me. Just voicing my own opinion

Yes, 2nd generation use small Canadian type buttons .  Slant pocket version seems to be general issue now and probably an update of/ or supplanted the 2nd generation M04.*
* ( check first post of Current Issue M98 thread { before we knew they were actually M04s, not M98s}).
