    Experimental Desert Marpat that was supposedly trialed about 5 years ago.

    No buttons except at the wrist, stretchy material at the elbow. Zippers and snaps and velcro instead of buttons.

    Very lightweight material throughout....

    Actually very comfortable and lightweight, but not very rugged.

    Would not expect this set to last very  long under normal wear and tear.  Probably one of the reasons it was not accepted as issue gear.  

    The  trial ECWCS trousers posted here are similar in construction and weigh,  and actually match pretty well with a lone blouse identical to the trial  set  that is the subject of this post.

    They have some great features and are very well put together, and again, very lightweight, and not very rugged. These pieces are basically great sportswear....But I like that...

    As Rip says, the uniform is a nice cut but it's made from an inferior quality cloth for military service. Nice to wear around base, perhaps, but out in the real world? I agree it doesn't feel like it would last long.
