German military jacket ? Berlin Police Field coat Camo Sumpfmuster sumpftarn BEPO tan/water

Hello, I would like to get information on this jacket.  

It feels older than other examples of documented 1960 Berlin Police coats that I've seen on the NET.  Just feels mid-50's.

Please look at the configuration of the sewn loops on the backside.  This jacket does not have elastic, however it does have Belt Loops that look original.  It also has 4 small herringbone material straps at the bottom front and midway up ( one is missing-decayed) The jacket has two sewn horizontal bands of material on the bottom hem and also halfway up.  I believe this would facilitate a drawstring and they end a few inches from the 6" herringbone strips that hang as I mentioned above.

Note the pocket are v-shaped and not a straight flap

It has NO arm-pocket or evidence of any patches or buttons taken off the shoulders or front or arms.
It consistently has smaller dark buttons for the pockets & collar strap.  The main body never had a zipper but instead larger green buttons.

The stitching is consistent and I confidently can say this has no alterations. ( I do collect OLD hunting clothing 1910-1960)
It doesn't even have any evidence of a missing mfg. tag.  The only mark (inside)I see is a faint "98" & each # is 0.75" tall.  

This jacket is flexible and NOT stiff.  However, It does have a dark brown material internally that gives some "stiffness" to the shoulder areas.

The condition is very good w/ the exception of a needing a good cleaning.  Probably a size 42 - 44 USA.

What you have there is a very rare 1957 experimental BGS Sumpftarn jacket.  Or what I call 1st Model Jacket.  It was trialed along with two pull over hooded smocks.

The cut loop on the back is for the breadbag D ring.  It seems to be pretty universally missing amongst surviving examples I've seen.  Not an unusual thing for BGS camo uniforms to have some "mutilation" for demilling purposes.

If you're looking to move this along, PM me.  I've already got one in about the same condition but yours has the original buttons on it and mine are replacements.  I'm very aware of what this is worth as this is one of my prime areas of interest
