Need help identifing this beret and flash

This was acquired from a friend who told me it was liberated in the 1983 Grenada invasion operation "Urgent Fury".
I was told it was taken from an "adviser" who was captured at the Point Salines Airport. I would suspect that it is Cuban and possibly a special forces unit due to flash and the lizard camouflage pattern.
I am hoping someone can identify the flash on the beret as well as the pattern which looks like the French or Portuguese lizard patterns. Hopefully
someone here can help educate me on this. Thanks for any and all replies.

That's exotic Is the cloth HBT (zig-zag)? If so, then the cloth probably came from a common export item popular from the 1980s through to today.

No, it is not HBT cloth. I am aware of that type of cloth. I'm hoping someone will recognize the flash and it will identify the beret.

Surely someone out there has seen a flash like the one on this beret?
I have not found anything like it on the web and I have searched. Still looking for an answer.

What is it made out of? It's hard to tell from the pictures. Bevo on cotton backing?

I will try and get some better pictures posted, I was using an old camera with the previous pictures.
