Very nice! These parkas aren't that hard to find, though the ones in great condition with original badging are definitely not that common.
1972 production. There are actually two variants, though the differences are extremely minor. The first variant was only for the original run in 1967/68 IIRC.
Thank you Steve!I'm happy to have one in this condition because, many are ripped and fu...ed up.And the prices on ebay are exploding...... Some years ago you could get one for 25 Euro now the bids on ebay are over 120Euro.
Yeah, the prices for the good ones are all over the map. You can still get them at a reasonable price if you're patient. But not like the old days. There was a German retailer that had them in whatever size you wanted for EUR 25 (maybe you're thinking of the same source).
Mick, the D rings were for the breadbag. I don't think they were used very often.
Congrats! They don't come in much better condition than that. And this being a 1975 jacket both of those badges are original to it. Earlier ones had the BUNDESGRENZSCHUTZ arc retroactively added after its introduction.
You say you're missing buttons, yes? Do you have a crappy one to take the buttons off of, or do you need replacements? If you need replacements send me an email and we can work something out.
