Re: Unknown Lizard 2 Pocket Shirt.
The shirt is a very nice pattern (ask Guille which one specific lizard pattern) model TTA-47 "Allegee" circa- Algerian war, that much is for sure. The patches look vaguely Belgian to me. I know the Belgian mercenaries in the Congo during the late 60's and 70's were very fond of wearing French Lizard cmao of every variety, it could be a fantasy piece, or it could very well be an awesome Merc jacket. In any case, I like it!

Re: Unknown Lizard 2 Pocket Shirt.
"Tarted up" shirt. Nothing right about it. Officer pips on the shoulders, but British style NCO rank on the arms (wrong direction and Belgians don't put rank on sleeves). Two different Belgian unit badges, which doesn't make sense, and they are low on the sleeve, which isn't the way they are worn. Three double ribbon bars that are on both sides of the chest and are, in fact, identical. Something no country does.
The good news is that when you strip all that crap off and you'll have yourself a nice shirt!

Re: Unknown Lizard 2 Pocket Shirt.
the green and orange ribbons are for the UK 1939-45 Defence medal

Agree it's tarted up.

Re: Unknown Lizard 2 Pocket Shirt.
Yep, the patches on the sleeves are Belgian; the right sleeve is the 1st Corps. The left sleeve is the 1st Infantry Division. Overall, it is a very nice piece, well done!

Re: Unknown Lizard 2 Pocket Shirt.
The shirt is definitely worth something, unless the stitching from these bad badges leaves a lot of traces.
Oh, and ditch the zipper while you're at it

Was wondering about the zip as it sort of looked out of place but is an old period piece so could me a mod maybe?

Re: Unknown Lizard 2 Pocket Shirt.
If you want to remove them, and I'll, understand if you don't, I'll give you a few bucks each for them plus actual postage. Belgian patches aren't big sellers, but.I like them.
