dating Vietnam era Jungle boots? Empty dating Vietnam era Jungle boots?

I saw some Vietnam style jungle boots at the swap meet yesterday with the Panama soles and the leather behind the heel also had the stitching that people say identifies it as Vietnam war era, but there was also a date stamp on the canvas dated 1985 and the soles had the mold mark RO SEARCH

this shows stitching behind the heels was continued into the 1980's, proof it was still done after the VN war era

I have a pair of Nam dated jungle boots that DONT have the heel stitching so seems that the heel stitching isnt the way to date them.

I agree, now that both examples are known to exist pre war and post war, so the stitching behind the heel is no longer a valid way of dating jungle boots
