Unusual F1 Jacket Empty Unusual F1 Jacket

Post by noobert Sat Nov 26, 2016 7:06 am

    Hello all,

I was hoping someone could help me with my jacket. It has a drawstring waist, no elastic anywhere, and the tag reads "UTAH PARIS 1983". The buttons on the bottom pockets, sleeve cuffs, and shoulder epaulettes are all the same: olive drab green (matches jacket color) and smooth (i.e., no detail--which is unlike the normal F2 buttons).

The jacket is also pretty lightweight--I'd say about half the weight of my F2 jacket which leads me to believe this jacket must be either a commercial F1 variant or an F1 variant manufactured for hot weather deployments.

I'm hoping the details provided are enough--if not I'll try to put up some pictures. I suspect "UTAH" will mean something to someone though--doesn't sound like your typical French company.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

It seems to me that you have a normal F1 Olive Drab Jacket.
    like this one:

Are the buttons "snap buttons" ?
Does the epaulettes have also "snap buttons" ?

As far as I know UTAH PARIS is a French Compagny: I saw some other military clothing for sale on the Internet, from UTAH PARIS.

Remember that the F1 Jacket is lighter than the M64 and the F2:
    F1 : 210 g/m2 (sometime 230 g/m2)
    M64 : 300 g/m2
    F2 : 270 g/m2

    Hope It helped.
With some pictures, It would have been better.

    Best Regards.

Thank you! Yes, the lower pocket, sleeve cuff, and epaulette buttons are all snap buttons. It's also made in what other posters are calling light HBT (herringbone?)

I've never owned an F1 before so I'm not sure what they typically weigh. I was mostly curious about the Utah Paris aspect.

    Hi,

You may find some photos of "pure" F1 jacket ( and of F2 jacket without lower pockets) on this post:

    Best Regards.
