Lucky find...I've yet to get any CADPAT. On my "to do" list, though.

Re: cadpat TW
Hi Philip, no i am not aware of any but as the TW should be worn with the same kit configutrations as the Arid, you might think that the mods on the arid would be carried on to the TW shirts too ...

Units in operational environments are granted more freedom with modifications and non-prescription equipment. The shoulder pockets have become standardized features for the last few rotations to Afghanistan.
There are rumours circulating that the Canadian Forces will be making a transition to an ACU-style design in CADPAT.

Does anyone know if the trousers on the first batch of uniforms with the exposed buttons also had exposed buttons?

Alas, the world is homogenising ..... at least the Cannucks are sticking with CadPat and not going all New World Order and having the same camo as everyone else.
My conspiracy theory is that everyone is going all in one camo to make the New World Order one worldwide Govt easier to do as all security forces from every country will look identical - now dons tin foil hat !

Re: cadpat TW
--Wouldn't be much different from the 80's, would it, Dave? I mean... Woodland. It went everywhere, including places that had no woods...
I also think that it is funny how, most feedback we get from GI's is that ACU is .fail. They would all seem to be indicating that Multi is better, at least the combat troops.
It is weird, from a US perspective-- well, Multi was not approved by the end of the Bush admin., but ACU was already standardized. Whenever I saw guys-- like Rangers-- who'd just come back and had to debrief, they were always wearing desert. Mercs wore Multi. That was it.

No, you're right, there is something to it all. One global army, one global conscience (Facebook etc.), this is not looking good at all...

I noticed some of you have the top buttons on your shirt done up, I just thought I'd put it out there that theese shirts are almost NEVER worn in suck a way. I personally have a few of theese uniforms (one of which I wear often) And even they are only ever done up to the sencond top button.

Same. Probably as a result of shirt shopping ... but when trying out the uniform I would do it up to the neck to see if it fits, 'cos if THAT will fit chances are everything else on the shirt will as well. That's about the only time I would do that top button - ever. How much money could the govt save in buttons, I wonder ..??

Yeah, but it really helps keep the shirt on the hanger for the photo shoot
One quick question though, and I presume a silly one, but the CADPAT tempered jackets I have seem more like shirts, and are not too different in textile from the arid ones, and then I've seen the big ICE, goretex parkas.
Now, is there any kind of intermediate combat jacket or is it straight from 'extreme' one to the other?

Re: cadpat TW
I think i saw them having a rip-stop high cut jacket looked like a windbreaker or soemthing (like the one the German KSK) in CADPAT last time i was in Canada
Can't vouch for authenticity tho, maybe commercial, officially i only saw CADpAT Shirt and CADPAT Parka with Canadian tag on it.....
By the way, i wore my uniform all the way up to my neck, except when they are not allowed (ie garrison)

CADPAT TR Combat Jacket ICE
There is a CADPAT Temporate Region Combat Jacket ICE which is the intermediate garment worn over the CADPAT TR Shirt when the temperature is too warm for the CADPAT TR Parka ICE. I wear the Combat Jacket all winter as the Parka is too warm.

Re: cadpat TW
Thank you both for added info, excellent!
I've read on other forums (or is it called fora in plurial?) that the ICE parka's were excruciatingly warm and the insulation material completely non-breathable.
So good to know there is a combat jacket - one more to collect I guess
