    TAZ90 blouse/shirt Empty TAZ90 blouse/shirt

Post by ripcord Sat Apr 30, 2016 8:43 pm

Recently acquired this very nice current TAZ90 shirt . Perfect for my latest Swiss patch hoard.
Appears to have a small pocket for ID sown onto the chest pocket..
There is a mesh cover on the pocket similar to the mesh cover used on the old style nametape pocket.

Nice! Does that ID pocket have a "window" on it, or is it open? Is it sewn through to the inside of the jacket, or is it sewn only onto the pocket outside?

I'd not want to have that thing on my chest if if I were in a combat situation. It would snag easily, I should think. Then again, if I were in a combat situation where that could snag I'd be more concerned about not having body armor Very Happy

    Thanks guys..

Looks pretty good patched Alex, but it did not come that way.

It is patched for  a Grenadier  Warrant Officer  who wound up in Supply.. affraid

The ID pocket is something I have not previously seen.  It is sown to the chest pocket and has a mesh covering exactly like the older style  nametape pocket..

I don't know what to make of this. I've not seen anything like it. Not the badge pocket and not the mesh. Odd.

    What's the date on it?

Hey where would I be able to aquire Taz90? Ebay seems to not have much if any. I don't really care about patches as I'm mostly interested in a simple jacket, trousers, cap, and possibly helmet cover.

The seller often relists more TAZ90 jackets after selling out.

    Keep an eye out ...

    Very interesting sample!

I see not only the chest pocket is covered with velcro(?)-flap, but the sleeves also miss zipper and metal tabs for fastening, but feature the velcro fasteners.

This is definitely not a typical jacket.

Considering that velcro is used throughout, the shirt is most likely an aviation garment.

There is virtually no metal besides the zipper slider .

Zipper is plastic and small velcro squares replace metal snaps.

Thanks, I think it makes sense!
Metal parts in the garment can potentially cause danger in aviation, so air force garment is often without them.
In my Swiss jacket of the usual and most spread type I see inscriptions in 3 languages "SCHWEIZER ARMEE"...

    Example of such type camouflage:

    TAZ90 blouse/shirt Swiss_10

    Do you have similar stuff?
Maybe you know when such version of TAZ90 appeared?

My newer TAZ 90 field jacket ( dated 2012 ) has  Swiss Armed Forces in English as well :4 languages in total.

Have not seen any other TAZ90 pieces with logos, only field jackets so far.

    Thanks for the answer, ripcord!

As for me, I saw the followibg "labelled" pieces: TAZ90 pants, jacket and footwear care set (which is shown on the pics above).

Maybe, since 2012 or the Swiss TAZ90 camouflage, manufactured around this date is "protected" with such inscriptions...

    My pleasure Andy,

Dont really see much TAZ90 in my area; actually have to get lucky.

Would be nice to see some of the newer " logo " pattern pieces besides field jackets.

Seems 'logos " integrated into patterns is becoming the norm.

    Hello, ripcord!

Sorry for small and not so good picture - there are not so much pictures available and Swiss guys do not share theam easilyy...

Good photo.. Shows the " logos " clearly.

Also, something new to me. The cut of those trousers seems different than any other TAZ90 trousers I've seen before. Cargo pocket is clearly different than pockets from earlier trousers.

Well, let's not forget that these water- and wind-proof pants (with Gore-TEX?) are for mountain troops and could differ from ordinary TAZ90 pants used daily by the Swiss Armed Forces.

I saw the pics of new experimental uniform with modified TAZ90 camouflage, and different cut of the pockets.. If I manage to find those pics, I will be glad to share them.

I am sure that Swiss military are thinking seriously about further modernization of their current uniform, so very interesting pieces of uniform and ideas are expected to arise.

    I just found a real picture with "GI-labelled" TAZ-90 jacket of machine-gunner.
    I like this characteristic pic!

Great photo.  I can see at least 2 logos and a partial near his shoulder. .

That rifle is a STG90 ; one of , if not the best, on the planet.

He is carrying the M90 bayonet , like the one Alex has posted..

Excellent pictures! Very interesting to know that the Swiss have an aviation/ground crew uniform. I don't think they had one with the previous uniforms. At lest I've never seen one before.

Today I received a TAZ90 set that might have some clues about when the Swiss Army writing appeared in the camo pattern. The suit consists of jacket and trousers, both dated 2007. The jacket has the writing, the trousers do not. Maybe 2007 was the year of transition?

Photos are indeed some of the coolest TAZ90 shots I've seen.

Interesting to see the newer pieces with multi language logos.

At first, I did not realize the differences of the blouse I posted as compared to the standard cut.

Would be really nice to see matching trousers...but not holding my breath...

Steve, your new jacket ( with logos ) dated 2007, obviously pre dates my 2 field jackets, so we at least now know that 2012 was not the beginning of transition to newer type.
