Some Asian-bases factories, which manufacture the military clothes by gov't contracts, use to become the source of such textile (extra production?)...

In the previous years there were some publications on this matter in Internet, mainly about China.

Excellent pictures, but I'm afraid the only way to confirm or refute my observations is to have several pieces in hand. The patterns are very "busy" and do not repeat very often. Trying to identify similarities is difficult without large surfaces to compare to. I compared the backs, arms, and legs of both types and could find nothing in common between the two.

I'm pretty confident the patterns are different, but it would be good to have someone else double check with first hand observations.

    Here's my latest TAZ90.  It's the 2007 dated one I mentioned above.

This is a new conditions old style blouse.
Early issue garments did  not have a manufacture, or contract date.

Early issue trousers ( also in new conditions ) have no manufacture, or contract date as well .  The  base color is much darker than the blouse.

I have 2 pairs of early issue TAZ90 trousers:
more light ones are 91/92 dated, (manufacturer code?) is FAG
More dark ones (with olive-yellowish inside) are dated 96/97, (manufacturer code?) is FR/

If the uniform is introduced in 1990, most likely the Swiss soldiers started getting it in early 1991, so my trousers could be considered an early ones, right?

On the one hand, the labels from your TAZ90 set could be eliminated intentionally by the seller, e.g. due to his personal safety reason (TAZ90 is govt. controlled, so any ID info could become an evidence...), does this version make sense, how do you think?

On the other hand, I don't think Swiss army used to indicate any contract data and number, as it used to be in the USA,
and the manufacturer is probably indicated by capital letters (2 or 3).

Thanks for showing your different trousers.   The labels clearly have dates on both trousers.

I agree that dates of 91-92 are early issue.

Sorry if I was not clear; all my early pieces do have labels, just no dates on them.

These are the labels on my 3 early pieces: a field jacket, a blouse and trousers.

    Labels on field jacket:

                                                         TAZ90 blouse/shirt - Page 3 Dscn7613

                                                         TAZ90 blouse/shirt - Page 3 Dscn7614

    Labels on blouse :

                                                        TAZ90 blouse/shirt - Page 3 Dscn7615

                                                        TAZ90 blouse/shirt - Page 3 Dscn7616

    And on trousers:

                                                        TAZ90 blouse/shirt - Page 3 Dscn7617

Based on the lack of dates (on all 3 pieces ), I would say they are probably a very early production of TAZ90.

    Thanks for your comments, Andy..

Looking at one of your past posts ( post # 11 ), I realized that some TAZ90 garments have 3 language logos ( French, German and  Italian ) while some have 4 ( French, German, Italian and English ).

It appears later production TAZ90 has included English logos , even though it is not an official Swiss language.

    From ( your ) post # 11

In my Swiss jacket of the usual and most spread  type I see inscriptions in 3 languages "SCHWEIZER ARMEE"...

    Example of such type camouflage:

Sal, this photo is taken from my reviews of Swiss Army boots (http://cartalana.com/002-185.php)
More reviews about Swiss combat boots of different years, and the boots of other countries can be found on: http://cartalana.com/002-content.php

I posted the pics of Swiss Military Boot Polishing Kit (boots care set) in TAZ90 camouflage there.
On this kit there were only 3 language logos ( French, German and  Italian), but the surface of the kit is quite small, so I can not say definitely whether they used English logo or not.

On my TAZ90 sets, shown above (2010 and 2011 years of manufacture),  one can see 4 language army logos (I marked English logos with oval circles):

Looks like my theory of 3 language logos is flawed.

I checked my things with logos and all of them have 4 as well..

Also, my 2007 trousers has its pattern printed in reverse of the 1995 jacket I have.  The Swiss did this with their previous Alpenflage pattern as well.

The situation gets more and more interesting! Very Happy

Probably, on the earliest items there were 3 languages, on more recent - 4 (maybe due to increasing participation of Swiss Armed Forces in foreign (overseas) peace-keeping missions).

    Any other ideas, gentlemen?
