I love ghillie suits. They are just an awesome piece of work. You know that whoever owned them put hours and hours of work into setting up their suit because the mission and their life depends on them staying camouflaged. I have three ghillie suits in my collection. I have photographed two of the three suits.
The first one was bought in a little surplus shop at Ft. Campbell, KY (home of the 101st ABN and the 5th Special Forces Group). This suit was hung up in a little corner of the surplus shop. I was able to buy it for a decent price and it now sits in my room waiting to be displayed. One bad thing about this suit is the body odor. I know that many snipers don't wear deodorant with their suits and all the real/used ghillie suits I have handled all have a body odor smell. Anyone know of a way to get rid of that smell? Not complaining....just a legitimate question.
Also, I'd love to display my ghillie suits but haven't figured out a good way to do so. Any suggestions????
