Re: Some Recent modern Belgian finds
Latest Belgian bits from last weekends visit to Ciney!
Moon and Bals camo hood, 2 Desert Jigsaw modular pouches for grenade and 2 pistolmags, Jigsaw legholster.
With the holster it came to my attention that there are 2 types, this older one, and a newer one that didn't have a magpouch on it.
And then this Desert Jigsaw body armor with softarmor fillers.

Re: Some Recent modern Belgian finds
So I finally have something to add to this thread again.
In some way I skipped straight past any of the NFM stuff and suddenly found a load of Sioen gear, and after that I did get 2 more NFM pouches, so now I have just 2 NFM pouches in normal Jigsaw camo
and just 2 in Desert Jigsaw camo, so both nowhere near a set, and still no NFM vest at all.
First a Sioen vest in Coyote Tan, they probably thought there was no need for vests in 2 different colors anymore and just go with 1 in a color that goes with both.
And then a load of Sioen pouches, there's also a few in actual Coyote Tan, not sure what's with that, they might be either for an entire Coyote Tan set for whatever unit would use that, or for use with the later
platecarrier. Fun fact, a few of the pouches here are very similar to Dutch NFP pouches from the earlier pre-VOSS trial series, especially the magpouches (which have removable flaps on the NFP ones) and the
40mm carry system (which is a seperate pouch in this case and in the Dutch case an insert to go in a utilitypouch, and it also has pulltabs).
And lastly the 2 NFM pouches, for some reason they made the dumppouch with an Alice clip instead of modular, and it holds it's rolled state with just a bungee with a tab on it.
And onto clothing, I got this Desert UBACS.
It's normal Jigsaw version.
And one of the new Multicam ones from the project involving Crye, Sioen and Seyntex. The cut is the Crye G4 type but it has no Crye labels, or any manufacturer for that matter, there's just the big white
Belgian army specific label in there.

Re: Some Recent modern Belgian finds
And the package with the rest of my order has arrived!
First an NFM Bear Vest II in Desert camo.
And a load of pouches again (along with a Russian OMON patch), NFM grenadepouch, NFM triple magpouch, NFM 100rd Minimi magpouch,
Sioen Desert dumppouch, Sioen pistolmagpouch, and a Sioen triple 40mm pouch again, this time in the regular jigsaw.
By the way, I have an extra Jigsaw NFM dumppouch, only the elastic with tab has been removed, if anyone is interested.

Re: Some Recent modern Belgian finds
Oh yeah and another cover as seen in the first post of this thread but then made in the 4-color pattern without the white bits.
For some reason not in ripstop like the other one.
And an MP armlet.
And then an M71 canteenpouch in nylon, like the magazinepouches that sometimes appear. I've also seen backpacks in the same material but haven't come across shovelpouches yet.

Re: Some Recent modern Belgian finds
More!
First a 1995 Seyntex coat/smock, not sure how the Belgians called this one and what units it was meant for as I don't think I've seen them in many photos.
Ripstop 4-color pants to go with my UBACS from earlier.
Then more modular pouches, NFM Jigsaw radiopouch, 2 NFM Desert magpouches, and a double pouch, most likely meant for pistolmags that I see worn mostly
on Sioen vests but it has no labels or markings whatsoever and it's details are not consistent with Sioen's other pouches at all.
And then 2 custom made Minimi pouches from Morane Tactical.

Re: Some Recent modern Belgian finds
I thought of it when I bought this set last week.
The search for pants like this took me so long I just bought a set and didn't even pay attention to the smock with it, thinking I'd just sell 1 of the 2 later,
never even noticing it's a full length zipper version, sadly it has no labels but I think I remember this being an early-mid 90's type?

These are interesting pieces!
The smock started out as a standard type used in the early 1970s. I've got a 1973 example in my collection. I do not know if they were made later. The collar is very distinctive, and there are a lot of small details that differ from production run to production run.
Unfortunately, yours is modified to be full zip instead of the original 1/2 zip construction. This MIGHT have been done while it was in service as the Paras were known for messing around with stuff. In the early 1980s there was a production run with full zip, then it went back to 1/2 zip, and then (I think) to an experimental full zip in 1995 before being abandoned.
Your trousers are very interesting to me!! This is the first time I have seen a 6 pocket twill cotton trousers. There's a very rare 8 pocket version from the same time, but the only other type I know of is 6 pocket poplin cotton. Please check the lower legs and see if there are any signs of the lower pockets being removed. If not, then you have found something quite rare, I think.

Re: Some Recent modern Belgian finds
Good think I did lready have a smock with the half zipper, it's in the previous post above the full zipper one.
After checking the pants in better light I can actually see some parts where threads seem to have been removed in the correct areas so it must have been an 8-pocket before.
By the way, the 1995 jacket with 2-snapbutton pockets, do you know if that was a para type or meant for regular infantry?
