The information that I have.. During the colonial war, the Portuguese marines's jacket did not have the shoulder patch with the name ARMADA..
From 1970 the Marines began to wear on the left shoulder the distinctive in fusco metal with the ARMADA legend..
The use of the patch began long after 1974.. probably mid 80s..

All the Fuzileiro photos I've seen in books and publications clearly show lack of Armada patches.

I have seen African issue uniforms with and without  Armada patches. Fuzileiros did wear a wide range of uniforms, both camo and non .

Above photo shows a Type M964 blouse; obviously lighter and better suited to African climate than the "para " type uniform usually associated with Fuzileiros.
