82nd Airborne Patch Display Empty 82nd Airborne Patch Display

    Hey Guys,
I don't know if many of you know it, but I'm heavily into the 82nd Airborne, and I'm only a few hours from Ft. Bragg(Home of the 82nd). Here are some patches that I have found / bought / been sent. The 5 on the bottom are all theatre made (Exception being the first one on the left) and the last one on the 2nd row is Theatre made. Enjoy!
    Andrew

    (sorry for the crappy pic)

    Hi Andrew.

really nice display. What did you use as base material and how did you attach the patches to it.
Reason I ask is that I'll move into our new home in November Yeeeeehaaaaa and my little house dragon gave permission that I can have a 16sqm room in the basement for my collection & office.
So my intention is to cover a part of one of the walls with my australian patches (currently 110 pieces but more to come).

Maybe we could all share our ideas and knowledge on putting up a proper patch display.

Well, actually it is a simple display case that has a cotton type backing. The patches are held in place simply by the force of the glass and backing against the patch. The velcro ones simply stick there (velcro is very irritating, when you move around your display, you take a little bit of the cotton with you.... Shocked ). I also have a few other patch display with some of my nametapes, and a few others. They all utilize the same thing, force against the patch. This display is leaning against my wall on top of my field desk.

Great display, I like the idea of fitting cotton to a frame to keep the patches from sliding down like they do with me. Mad

It looks like he's using a riker mount which comes in various sizes. It's basically a narrow width cardboard box with a lid that has a glass pane. It's got a foam insert and layer of cotton over that. An added thing you can do on these is to select some type of fabric, I tend to prefer khaki as it doesnt distract you from what's on display.

    rikers for sale.
