Camo uniforms used to wear ONLY airborne, specnaz, naval infantry, border guard units. Best regards, Vitalis Very Happy

WOW! Very nice two questions though.

    What size is it?

    Where did it come from?

It looks a bit like the Japanese repro's done in the 90's I think. Picture of manufacture stamp would clear that up. Smile

Steve, IMO your jacket looks like the Japanese copy with the label removed... I hope you didn't pay that much for it... The shade of the camo and button color on your set are near identical to the copies..

Damn, it is a copy Sad I can see where the tag was removed. I was a little suspicious of this when it arrived because there is no ink stamp and it didn't... well... feel right. But it looks so correct! I did not know there was a copy of this uniform floating around. Bah.

Fortunately, I did not pay too much for it. About $60 total. If I had known it was a fake I wouldn't have bid on it. I certainly wouldn't have bid as much as I bid Smile Thankfully nobody else wanted it so my top bid wasn't touched.

Trust me I know the feeling. One militariashow I had thought that I found a set of 1st pattern till I realized it was one of those Japanese copies.... I didn't buy it... Although I might have if it fit better and was not fitted for a small Japanese man! Smile

Yeouch! I wonder what one of those would fetch on eBay. I saw a visor cap on eBay a couple of years? ago and it went for huge money IIRC.

I have yet to see the aviation suit now that is MEGA rare. Same goes for pretty much any border guard item pre 1988

Here is some color photographic evidence:

If you look at the details, your shirt does deviate somewhat from what the original 1st pattern spetsodezdha. I believe you have one of the Japanese copies, like the one posted by Steve above.

Low price doesn't mean to buy a copy. I don't buy this jacket at collectors or at military sellers, but I buy it from a stall of used cloths. You can note a difference ( that I pointed with the two cambers )between my jacket and the Steve's jacket. On mine you can note a brown strip of cloth, while on Steve's jacket the same strip is in camo. If Steve compares the photos published, with his jacket, he will confirm that my jacket isn't a japanese copy.

Enea's Type 1 Spetsodezdha jacket looks original to me.

These uniforms have factory marks stamped onto sewn-in squares of cloth just like the kzs uniforms do. Looks like the factory tag was removed from this jacket. There maybe remnants of the tag on the seam behind the button side of the jacket. Let me know if you want to see photos.

Thank you for the detailed pictures of the Spetsodezdha jacket, Enea.

Some people would pay $200 for that, so at EUR 25 it was a steal! Anybody ever seen the trousers for sale? I've seen at least one legit jacket over the years, and a couple of the Japanese knock offs, but I don't think I've seen trousers.

Many thanks Erick for your information.I try to look for the rests of the label(such as in the posted pic of my KZS set and of russian pack)but I found nothing.Maybe because the label is been completely cut off.I think these labels were always cut off, because I have four KZS set and only in the new set, there is the label.

I added another pic of my Spetsodezdha in which you can note the flap of the arm with bright -yellow digital blotchs.
I too am looking for the pants for complete my set, even if I think I'won't be so lucky to find it at €25,00!

It isn't a steal but luck!

Here are close-up photos of details on the Spetsodezhda Type 1 pants.

Banana pocket at each hip. The only pockets on the pants.

Here is a photo of the manufacturing tag on the jacket. It looks like this uniform was manufactured in Andijan, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (now Uzbekistan). The uniform looks to be dated 1983.
    Soviet KGB Border Guards(PV) - Page 2 KGB_Tag

It is not uncommon for Soviet uniforms to have different colorations like the pocket flap on your uniform. The Soviets used surplus scraps of material - some in different color or even different camo patterns - for making pocket flaps, collars and other small pieces of uniforms.
