TTA47 "toutes armes" or "modèle général", "modèle allégé"

47 is the year of introducing
    "modèle général" jacket 4 pockets
The "modèle allégé" is a modification of the TTA47 but I have not find information for the introducing of the model
The pant is identical for the 2 models
I don't know why many people put another number after the year of TTA47
For the TAP47, it the year of modification ( see my website)
TTA47 was used until beginning of the year 80, the product of the "modèle allégé" was stopped after the Algérian war
After Algerian war, only used in Africa by French troop because the camouflage was prohibited in France
For the garment build after Algerian war, they have a stamp on the top of the shoulder

Ah, finally solved the mystery surrounding this uniform!

Is the model "allégé" an original cut or is it a modified TTA47?

I received a late-model shirt last week and it came with shoulder ranks, but it doesn't seem correct to where such a disruptive item on a camouflage field uniform. Where the black epaulets really worn on these?

For the garment build after Algerian war, they have a stamp on the top of the left shoulder, only the left

That C1 pattern is stunning, how do I find a set? I've been looking for over a year.

From what period/war does this originate?

    Very beautiful set.
I was in paris in 06 and found one of this jacket at a local flea market. It was more like a store within the flea market, he was specialized in the indochina stuff and amongst a lot of cool stuff there was a jacket in same pattern, price? 1250 euros, obvioulsy i didn't buy it. Is probably still there.

    Hello
The C1 pattern is typically Indochina war period
A set as this in new condition is no limit on ebay France
Danilo, I think that you have see at 1250 euros, is a TAP52 jacket, not a "modèle allégé" as this

You mean to say the price is astronomical? More than the TAP 52 in the same C1 pattern?

I have seen these uniforms referred to as TTA 47/52 in many French sources. Could the "52" designation refer to the year of the "modèle allégé" modification to the original service uniform?

Gilles can provide much more specific information, but roughly speaking there are two groups of French Lizard pattern uniforms; TTA and TAP. The TAP designations usually have a slash and a year after. TAP 47/52 is the 1952 variant. Within that there are different camouflage variations which Gilles has documented in another thread.

The TAP 47/52 is also being reproduced in a pretty good quality. I had an original set I bought in the mid 80s of TRAP 47/52 mint unissued. This was in my indochina collecting period. Got it fairly reasonable and can't for the life of me remember ever selling it, but don't have it now.
Value has skyrocketed in this in recent years, so another goof on my part along with selling all the ww2 Denison smocks I had bought prior to a bridge too far movie!

Chris is correct. Be very leery of excellent condition TAP 47/52. The reproductions are very good and difficult to tell from eBay pictures.

A good indication of time period for these TTA uniforms is the size tag format. Between 1945-1963 sizes were coded with only two digits, later they moved to the three digit system presently in use.
