Yes, but the intro duction of the CB RBAV for the 15th rotation to Afghan in 09 was probably more of factor. Im not sure when the new cam idea was born.

Re: NZDF issue coyote brown molle
I dont thin kthats a bad thing though, from what Ive seen of the recent US forces in NZ. The Marines seem to be more professional. Also they are a smaller force compared to the other services in USA so have to spend their coin carefully, if we can lever off them for any good items thenb why not, at least the colours are compatible.

Re: NZDF issue coyote brown molle
I'm all for following their org and I think we can learn a lot from their combat experiences but just keep a bit of kiwi in there and still call it a J hat. and their FROG clothing is a very good concept and I hope we adopt the FR uniforms/anti flash hoods and gloves and UBACS shirts, there PPE seems to be up there as well.

As long as it doesnt resemble the Wide Brim JHat!! I had a couple of the MARPAT boonie hats and they were well made and designed.

Shotgun shell pouch
1st generation pouch, so the PALS tabs are over ebuilt and dont sit that well as the newer type.
50mm wide Velcro hook panel at top of pouch to allow lid to be kept open. When PALS tabs are threaded onto vest the panel stays up.
Lid open and elastic lips.
Velcro under lid that keeps lid tucked flap when kept in open position.

Ive heard that the medics changed the load out and that's why they were withdrawn. Turners have been flogging 450 a week for about 3 weeks now. $1NR auctions.

Re: NZDF issue coyote brown molle
Logic would have been to issue all 3500 out and then phase in a new model, at least then we could have started the culture of carry a IFAK instead of 2 token dressings.

Re: NZDF issue coyote brown molle
Does anyone know if they have copied the same flat design ambidextrous system which fits in the small I the back like the US? Wonder how this would cope with a 35 Kg pack bearing down on it?

Does anyone know the original load out for the above IFAK pouch and the new one? Are they just changing the insert or the complete pouch?
Cheers

Im pretty sure its both. They are now looking at the lower back pouch like you mentioned and that looks like it holds more.

Re: NZDF issue coyote brown molle
Just got my hand on a new vest and some pouches, there are changes to the 25mm and 50mm webbing, its a bit thinner. Also changed is the edging. Looks like the manufacturers and sourcing different materials .
