Know nothing about this. Buttons look like Bakelite, but likely aren't.

"Lendelede"
The interwebs tells me that this is in West Flanders, but... you seem to recognize it. Oh, buttons have Rampant Lions, too, inside of diamonds, inside of trapezoids.:

Re: Belgian Short Jacket 1969
Makes sense. Dutch, but evidently produced by a nearby mfg. Wouldn't be the weirdest thing to ever have happen. Can anyone explain the buttons?

You're correct, it isn't Belgian but it was produced in Belgium. Lendelede is a place in Flanders with big cloth factories where bits for both Belgian, Dutch etc. armies were made. I can't help with the buttons - could it be a PT jacket?

Do you reckon that it is a bit of "fashion kit?"

Having thought about it, I'm sure this is Dutch Civil Defence. I've looked for the Dutch civil defence logo, and voilà!
Compare the central design with the logo on the buttons.

Re: Belgian Short Jacket 1969
Brilliant! Thanks for the diligence, I never would have managed to identify this on my own.
