Re: Pattern '58 webbing
Usually not into non-camouflage printed items, and webbing especially, I must admit that this is an impressive and über-cool find filupe!
That thing looks built like a tank, and cannot be the lightest piece of gear to lug around, with all those buckles and metal clasps?
Awesome, in the words true meaning, Sir!

You can't wear a para began with the kidney pouches attached. That's why Airborne always wore a belt kit of water pouches - they sit lower. Or to put it technically, you can wear the bergan with CEFO but not CEMO

quite correct that the earlier version was a darker green but the first pattern '58 resp case was green canvas. I have one in the attic somewhere with an S6 still inside it.
In my day the rumour was that it was designed by a woman. A woman who had been seriously abused / dumped etc by a squaddy at some stage in her early life !! She sure got her own back on a whole lot of us though, eh ?!!

Re: Pattern '58 webbing
The first issue NYLON S6 carrier had if I remember correctly brown edging/trim while the later one had green.
The 1st pattern canvas ones were at one time quite rare but now common.
