Re: Danish camouflage items
Yes..I have heard that...and that alot of the countries now require the uniforms to be turned back in or destroyed. I even was told by a guy somewhere along the way that their unit was basically made to strip down before they left the AO and the uniforms were confiscated & destroyed..So some countries are really tight. I am under the impression the US is pulling the belt tighter as well.

Not at all , you can still buy surplus all over the place including new digital , Its expensive but available, My buddy in Iraq was told to destroy their unis in theater so no bad guys got ahold of them , but it was limited to Iraq from what i understand .
I have a few friends in the Military , they told me they would get any Uniforms I wanted , the price is just high for them when you order new pieces direct , you can order them right online if your in the Military .

Re: Danish camouflage items
For years and years the US military is supposed to destroy all items made out of material, such as bags, uniforms, camouflage netting, etc. However, it's been routinely ignored because destroying the things costs money while selling them brings money in. For a very short time after 9/11 there was some scattered enforcement of the law, but it quickly fell apart. Likewise, after the ACU was introduced they attempted to control the supply of them into the open market. It was pointless since the commercial copies looked identical and they weren't prohibited from being sold on the open market.

Re: Danish camouflage items
Sorry Filupe, to sidetrack your thread but:
STEVE!
Something you haven't got?!?
I'm mortified
You could always ask your friendly neighborhood Danes, if they could help you out...
But well done on the desert vest, not too shabby!
Filupe, does the vest have period SEPI plate?

Re: Danish camouflage items
Saltefanden,
Ha! No problem - I'm shocked too! I could use a desert version as well
It did not come with the SAPI plate - if it did I'm sure Customs and law enforcement would be on my doorstep right now.

Re: Danish camouflage items
Ahh, hmm, are military grade plates illegal to own?
But I simply asked 'cause I've lifted some of those period, start 90's plates around a bit and we're talking serious dead weight.
The kevlar generation kids now-a-days are so spoiled!
But the vests are real comfortable actually and the ones in service with the Danish army now have changed very little, but from plate inserts in front and back.
Any Danish headgear?

In my country, absolutely. Our govt doesn't trust the population to own 'bullet-proof' items without some evil intent in mind ...saltefanden wrote:Ahh, hmm, are military grade plates illegal to own?

Not yet unfortunately. Have recently come across a Danish Kevlar helmet with cover on EBay but too rich for my current budget. All just a matter of time ...

Re: Danish camouflage items
Hi! Thanks for the offer, but at the time I was looking for the temperate cover. Already had one desert cover at the time, and since then managed to pick up a spare. So I'm all set.
