Looks a great deal more functional than US gear from the same time-period-- very nice.

Thanks! Here is the Ruck Sack... I intend to use an actual camera next time on the other gear.

Agreed very nice Ruck,it looks to be well padded, genius design, and therefore much more comfy looking than a Brit equivalent.

Great and interesting looking web set-like it a lot.
Not sure what the WW2 looking Mauser K98k cleaning kit is doing with it though

I personally use the 82 Patern Webbing on a rather consistent basis. It really is the best LBE I've yet encountered. I have a set in my collection minus the ruck..

Re: WE'82 Combat Webbing & Rucksack .
I've used the 82 ruck on several hiking trips and it was ok. A few mods were made to make it bearable on long hikes. I upgraded to the 64 pattern ruck and never looked back. The 82 now hangs on the wall in the garage.

The I'd have to agree '64 pattern ruck is by far a better piece of kit. It was designed for use with Airborne troops.

C2 Rucksack
The C2 Rucksack was designed in the ealry 1960s as a universal rucksack to replace the WWII vintage US Mountain Rucksacks which were then in use for winter warfare training. After a suitable trials process, it was adopted for Canadian airborne use in the late 1960s.
The frameless C1 Cargo Pack was also adopted in the mid-1960s for more general field use.
