Re: 4 Colour DPM Alice pack.
It looks like an ALICE pack as far as its design. Could be Saudi or U.A.E. as far as the DPM pattern. Definitely Middle Eastern or commercial.

Re: 4 Colour DPM Alice pack.
Still for sale and this was not intended for sale but as I need to have a massive clearout of my collection I could possibly be tempted to let it go.

Re: 4 Colour DPM Alice pack.
Keep it then mate, I would, but if you ever do decide to move it on please bear me in mind. Many years ago whilst the Cold War was still on and long before Granby the UK had a desert uniform in these colours, sometimes they were issued to guys going to Oman but not many ad not often. There was a DPM set of ALICE webbing as pat of the set as PLCE hadn't been developed. I don't know how many were made, or how many were issued. This might not be one of those but it looks like them. A photo of the uniform is in a book Uniforms Illustrated No10, The Paras, Arms and Armour Press. I think production was intermittent between 1977 and 1981, but as I say very rarely issued and then only to individuals not units.

Re: 4 Colour DPM Alice pack.
Thanks for the info James, very interesting.
I have a soft spot for 4 colour Desert DPM hence why I for now at least am thinking of keeping the pack.

Re: 4 Colour DPM Alice pack.
I'd keep it not only is it unusual but there is a possibility of it being fairly unique. I wanted it purely because I like Bergens especially unusual ALICE packs. Since you obviously have contacts or have travelled in that part of the world if you ever see an Omani DPM ALICE pack for sale please let me know. I passed on one once and have been kicking myself ever since. The four colour DPM and Omani DPM's are one of the nicest of all patterns in my opinion. I think we should have stuck with the four colour desert DPM despite other users having it.

Re: 4 Colour DPM Alice pack.
I think I may have bought such thing as well, about 25 years ago, but plain tan, in a box, with the whole shebang, ruck, tray, Y suspenders, two belts, pouches everything.
Though the tradeoff was, all hardware was metal, not blackened brass as it should be, therefore I got rid of it all.
