yes you are absolutely right and some of the VV MVD "SpecOps" Units are still using it ... This particular example is made by the Russian company "Комбат" or "Combat" (a contractor for, amongst others MVD and FSB SpecOps units btw) in 1999 and it is a 85/15 cotton/polyester mix (non ripstop) ... it is pretty lightweight in the sense of a real summer set, yet sturdy and well made.
