    Here is an East German uniform that was used by SWAPO in South-West Africa. This set differs from the regular EG sets by having no place to attach epaulets and with having only one sleeve pocket on the left arm. Also has metal/chicken wire pieces in the sleeve and leg area.

    Another example of the SWAPO PLAN uniform in the East German "export" Strichtarn. Both examples are virtually identical.

    The function of the sewn on strap on the front of the shoulder is unknown.

    I do not have any African camouflage for sale at this time. It is getting so expensive to buy these days, if I sold off what I have, it would be difficult to replace.

    --Those are some nice bits from a truly terrible campaign. The chicken-wire you mentioned... I didn't see it. What was the benefit of that?

    I call it chicken wire, but it could be bailing wire or something like that. Not sure what it was used for. Both of the EG export model uniforms I own have odd modifications.

    The above two pictures show the wire modifications and the bottom picture shows a strap that was sewn onto the shoulder of the second uniform. Both modifications are a mystery.

    And yeah, I have been doing fine-- just had so much to do, all I have had time for was the listing of newer things (it has been a good season for the thrift-circuit, so far). I've been meaning to post more thing in their proper classification, but time escapes me.
