Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Hello Alex!
Just received these pants here in Ukraine.
I checked out the pics in this topic and I guess this is KAZ 69 pants, is that true?
Unfortunarely, I can't se the last number of the manufacturing year, 197?...
Until what year (approximately) had these pants been manufactured? 1978?
Thank you in advance for your comments and any applicable interesting information!

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Yes these are KAZ69 trousers. They made the stuff until some
years after they introduced the KAZ75 uniform. I dont know exactly when they stopped. But I have some camo stuff that was still made in 1977. It could be possible yours have been made in 1973.

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Except for the small tear on the leg pocket, that is a very nice condition KAZ69 trousers.
Alex, 1977 production date? Interesting! I thought the last production date was 1976. I will update my notes

Thank you very much, Alex, for excellent answer, as usually!
I wondered if these pants were made in 1973 or 1978, but the year 1973 seems more correct.

Thank you, Steve!
This is my first piece of Erbentarn-Punktmuster staff in my collection.
Except of small tear (repaired) on the cargo pocket, it misses one ribbon on the ankle and one button, but these are minor defects.
This camou seems excellent for autumn conditions.
I just wonder of the slash pocket construction: it has 2 pockets and a through-hole for access... to the other trousers underneath?
Are these pants intended for wearing over some other pants?
On a local forum I missed an interesting set with such overpants (no slash pockets, through-holes only), so sad...

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Yeah usually the first pants where designed to be worn over standard uniform M56 pants, but that was not usefull during summer. Also the had some quillted
thermo liners for the camo uniform. Thats why you have the option to grip through.
The KAZ59 pants with the string to tie up are the the last version of the tanker trousers. They have also zippers on the cargo pocket.

Yup, definitely the brown boots. Black boots at least look better than stilettos
Nice pics of everything in place. Thanks for that.

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Hi, Alex!
I agree - brown boots look better!
Alex, do you know such manufacturer as STEINADLER? I know only STEINKOGLER boots manufacturer...
On the pics the so-called "Alpine Fleece Jacket G3" is shown.
I suppose this is a commercial manufacturer, not Bundesheer contractor.
What do you think about this fleece jacket?

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Yeah its a commercial variant of the offical issued alpine-fleecejacket. The origins of this type of issued fleecejacket started in a commercial variant which
could be bought by soldiers on their own. It was a very popular private purchased item so the army issued an own variant for general issue in two variants- standard fleece and the more windproof
alpine variant
The shop makes some own improved KAZ03 stuff for example a lightweight KAZ03 standard uniform a KAZ03 heavy jacket variant with insulated liner they even copied the old KAZ75 boots. AFAIK they dont supply the austrian army on a contract basis but there are for sure some soldiers that buy this stuff privately.

The situation is similar to Swiss commercial company A-shop, which makes something similar to the Swiss army contracted fleece jackets.
This was discussed withing the forum topic:
Schweizer Armee TAZ90 Instruktor-Jacke
The following pictures are from on-line shop, where this jacket was proposed as an orinigal contracted one.
Actually this is fake copy, that is seen by some details.

Thanks, Alex!
Unfortunately, I failed to find anything about the Austrian M56 uniform.
How does it look like?
Do you have any pieces of it in your collection?
Many thanks in advance for any additional information!

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Here is a pic of the uniform in the field:
https://www.bundesheer.at/misc/image_popup/ImageTool.php?strAdresse=/abzeichen/images/anzug_m56.jpg&intSeite=1920&intHoehe=1080&intMaxSeite=1920&intMaxHoehe=1025&blnFremd=1
Not very practical at all. I dont have it in my collection. Its a too formal service uniform for my focus.

I agree - this uniform is not a camouflage one and is too formal, actually it's just an update of the war-time service uniform...
And I understand now why it's not so much information about it in the Internet - it's not an interesting field for most collectioners,
especially if to compare with more recent Erbentarn camouflage uniform.
