Re: my czech display
Nice display! This camo pattern looks so much better when it's matched with field gear. Otherwise it's kinda bland

Re: my czech display
many thanks steve for the kind compliments ,here's the reverse of the display and a breakdown of the items originally i was using this 1952 dated backpack very much in the german mountain troops style of ww2 i was using the hood as a helmet cover but reunited it with the field parka the shirt is dated 1965 the longer parka is dated 1964the breadbag is dated 1968the cap is dated 1969 the canvas/leather susspenders are dated 1968 flare gun pouch dated 1977 the flask in more detail the gasmask is dated 68 and the filter 69 ,interestingly the bag divider was a piece of retro formica some high boots vz 53 soviet ssh40 reissued to czech army the lower rivits now serve no purpose later issue field goggles most likely around 1990's1991 tanker helmet 1971 dated gasmask bag

Re: my czech display
Nice detail pics! Plenty of unusual items to look at.
I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Czech soldiers wearing the hood as a helmet cover, so I think it's best to keep it with the coat.
I'm not familiar with those boots. The type I've seen used from early 1960s through 1980s is a lace up boot with two buckles above the ankle. Is that a plastic clip and not a buckle on yours?

Re: my czech display
thanks again for your thoughts steve ,its always a pleasure ,i wont put the hood back on the helmet as a cover ,ill leave be as in the first picture just slightly pulled up over ,the boots are definately czech issue but as you say about the lace up type i too am only familiar with them ,these do have a plastic buckle ,im guessing perhaps motorized troops of some sort pehaps motorcyclist ,they are something id really like to learn more about so im hoping others might chime in and confirm there exact use, thanks again, james

Re: my czech display
I'll see if I can get more info on the boots. For sure they are not Communist issue. Perhaps they are, as you say, for motorcycles. Could also be for parade/guard duties. It is also possible they aren't military issue. German police and firemen, for example, had/have jackboots of their own that get confused with military issue. BGS has their own style vs. Bundeswehr, etc.

Re: my czech display
Thunderchild,
you used for your display gasmask CM3 used by civil defence not by the army. You need M10.
Also using the net for helmet is not correct. Nets were used in 50´s but in 60´s very rarely by Border Guard.
I am not sure about the goggles but IMO these look like for motorcycles not for grunts.
