Somehow, the late date (April 2013) leads me to believe this is probably not a trial but a purely commercial shirt. As we know this pattern wasn't accepted by the MOD for the DDPMs, I'd imagine the scenario is that the manufacturer picked up the bolts of cloth (probably quite cheaply) and decided to make these up for the commercial market.
