Added info on IDF Zahal helmet, please

Hi All.

Excuse me but can anyone elaborate on this, my latest find; a really good condition (an 8 out of 10) IDF helmet, please?

Is there a way to date this piece by either tags or by build? Is it a rare one or pretty run of the mill? Thank you all in advance!

its an Orlite OR201 probaly made for export as the lables are in english, If it had been made for the IDF the lables would be in hebrew. I think its a quite recently made one as it has a white inside and black suspension webbing

Yes, I suspect the thing is not terribly old, but the rather hand printed feel and lettering on the label threw me a bit; it looks more 1970's than 90's to me!

Any idea on who the Isrealis might have been exporting this type of helmet to, please?
I know there was a bit of confusion about I.D.F. (Israeli vs. Irish Defence Force) helmets on the Ireland thread, does this play into that, or who else have been issuing these helmets?

On another note; it is one of the most comfortable and simply build helmets I've ever had the good fortune of strapping on my head. The suspension system is bordering on the banale, but really it molds itself around both chin, neck and the temples.

I will agree with you on the comfort and fit of the Israeli made helmets is second to none
