These are really exotic-looking uniforms. Are there any photos of these in use with MVD personnel?

Excellent collection there Gilles. It appears one of the tropical uniforms has one more colour included into the pattern. I've never seen that one. Desmond identified only four.

Wow! I didn't know there were 5 types. The 4 color desert looking set must be very rare.

VERY nice items, Gilles!
I didn't manage to find a single tropical KML yet, though it's first priority on my want-list.
Congratulations!!

Cool pic - do you know where it's from?
I didn't notice until I compared a beret I had to a suit and one was 4 colour the other only 3.

Sadly no, random web search.
Interesting comment about your find, maybe there isn't a 5th version and it's merely some production deviance?

The beret didn't actually come with the set I got. I had a beret that I got somewhere, then I ended up getting a suit from somewhere, but it was missing the beret, so I thought: no probs, good that I got that lone beret, but then I got it out and noticed it was different... Don't like my chances of getting another beret or suit to complete...
I think the European pattern one I have is also missing the beret unfortunately...

Superb! Is it possible to identify any units or service branches from these photos?

Yes, the last picture show soldiers of the special team Rus' (MVD), deactivated in 2008.
I'm not sure about the other photos...but surely they are MVD troops. All pictures are from first chechen war.

incredible! It's in better shape than the one I had. To put it in reference I think I sold it to Borsarello for $750 all those years ago (20 maybe?) so it's probably not that far out of line the price he has now.
The guy selling it has a link to his website, he's got a couple books he's done on sov. uniforms. http://soviet.com.pl/
Also, I remember back in the 80s when plain klmk one piece (my fav sov camo ever) were going for around a grand and the para berets around $150!!
