Minus my flight helmets and 3 or 4 Civil Defense helmets, this is the last of it. Now, if there was a great HAT thread, we'd REALLY be here a while!!

WW1 Prussian Pickelhaub. Has a replacement chin strap and rondells. The rest is original.

And some reproductions. The Zulu War one was a gift from a friend. The WW2 ones are all from reenacting I did.

    Zulu War pith helmet
    THE HELMET THREAD - Page 11 PICT0026THE HELMET THREAD - Page 11 PICT0028

WW2 USN LCVP driver's helmet. I did this one up to look like one one of my uncles may have worn. The shell and liner are original WW2. The shell is a re-paint. Liner is a Firestone my friend had as a child.

WW2 1st Inf. Helmet. Shell is an original WW2 re-paint. Liner is an OD3 hbt webbed Belgian one re-painted. The insignia is hand-painted.

WW2 M1C paratrooper helmet. This one is done up like a friend's who was in Co. C and HHC/501st PIR. The shell and liner are both 60's era re-paints/re-builds. The 501st diamonds are hand painted. The net and scrim are also hand made.
    THE HELMET THREAD - Page 11 PICT0044THE HELMET THREAD - Page 11 PICT0045THE HELMET THREAD - Page 11 M1crepop

WW2 German M43. This one is a re-build of a Spanish helmet. The camo is a cross between Normandy and Crete camo. The SS logo is hand-painted. The net is 3 wrap chicken wire. Scrim is perion wool strips. Snow goggles, chin strap, and rivets are original.

That's it except for flight helmets and some Civil Defense helmets.

Sure both are large so if anyone has a medium they want to trade for one of mine please get in touch.

I saw that auction. It does seem to imly that it is the newer helmet, but I do not believe it is. The inside shot looks like the older model. Plus the new helmet will be super tough to find.
